i just have Camera and Saved pictures even though i know there is an SC card. Am trying to download them from a message where they were attachments.

If I understand your question correctly ... to save photos that were sent as attachments to a text message, long-press on the photo until you see a pop-up that lets you save it. Depending on your phone, the saved photo may be in your internal storage under Messaging or Downloads rather than on your SD card.
