How can I unlock my LG transpyre?

I have a LG transpyre phone. I use the pattern feature. One day 3 weeks ago I was using the pattern and it kept saying the pattern was not correct. I kept trying a few times, then the screen turned black and a green robot looking thing showed and words about factory reset. The screen turned black again. The phone powered off on it's own. I turned the phone back on, and the first thing it did was show initialization, then checking connection. I had to put in password of my wifi.  Then, it says to 'verify your account' with the word 'google' under that. Then it says 'this device was reset. To continue, sign in with a google account that was previously synced on this device'. I did that, and then it says 'sign in with one of the accounts...' and I can't remember the rest. It was like a loop. No matter how many times I put in my ID and password, it said these 2 things.

I was searching online for help, and one thing I saw was to press the power button and volume down button at the same time. I did this, then 'system recovery' come up on the screen with choices to choose from. I chose 'continue power up' because it seems that none of the other choices apply. One of them was factory reset, but that was already done. The same thing happened as above.

So, I went back and chose factory reset. When I did this, the screen showed 'android is starting' and optimizing 31 apps. Then, I had to put in wifi password again. After password was accepted, the google thing come up again.

I took phone to verizon store for help. THey tried and everything above still happened. A manager said this is a google lock feature to prevent stolen phones from being accessed. And that this was happening more and more to phones of original owners. and they couldn't do anything about it, it's basically a useless phone now. They did not explain how I could get back into the phone, I guess they didn't know.

I then tried to find some youtube videos for help. One of them said to click 'accesories' but my phone does not have this.

So this is where I am now. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you !!

For some reason I am not allowed to edit my post. My phone is prepaid. It's my understanding that when a factory reset is done, you are suppose to set it up again. It never showed that option to get it started.

It is never good to learn you have been locked out of your phone. It does sound like the Google Mobile Recovery. You may be able to reset through Android Device Manager. https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=androidconsole&passive=3600&continue=https://www.go...

If that doesn't work you would want to contact Google.
