Can anyone tell me if I have a setting that is causing every App I want to download to do so in Wifi? Before I used to be able to download 95% of my Apps with 3G. Now everything requires Wifi. I have a Droid Bionic.
Also, for some reason my email is not showing me notification of when I have a new email. I have to go into gmail and manually refresh before I can see my new mail. Anyone help me out with this? thanks

Check your phone settings for a data or power management options. It might be restricting when you can download items.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

When you receive an email or text, there is an app called noLED which will put an icon in the notification bar, and either ring or vibrate, or both, depending on the noLED settings you chose.

Ann154, please read my question about my radio app. I think your answer to the op's question may be the reason my radio ap stops when in 4-G mode but has no problems in WI-FI mode. Thanks, David Lynn

Ann,
Thank you for your help. I found the tab that was restricting my data usuage. Since I have the unlimited plan I don't need it. Just need a point in the right direction to find it! Thank you!

Go to settings, select battery and data manager, select data saver, turn data saver off at top of screen. You will probably be able to download on 3g now.

Go into Google Play.Hit Menu, then Settings.uncheck the box for WiFi downloading only
In Amazon Apps, there is an option to allow downloads up to 50MB before you are required to use WiFi

Picture this...I'm standing in a park twirling my hair with my finger, chewing bubble gum with a deer in the headlights look. and I say something cute like,"I have unlimited data so let me download away on 4g."
Thanks a lot kid. Remember where that download on wi-fi button is because Verizon is ending the unlimited data packages in late June early July. Just because you can download on 4g doesn't mean you should. Unecessary crap like that is why. Taking a picture of an acorn to put on instagram can wait until you get to wi-fi connection. It just screws the rest of us.
