Is there any way to turn off the "vibrate" for every touchscreen selection - e.g., choose menu - phone vibrates audibly, choose an app, same thing...not talking about the vibrate on phone call, etc.

You can go to Settings>Sound and Display>And vibrating when typing.
With your texting, hold down the ?!123 on the Droid, or the Gears sign on the Eris that it'll bring up settings, you can then turn off vibrating while typing there.

I have the same problem. I hate it when I hit the back, home, etc and the phone vibrates. There has to be a way to disable it. I can't imagine they'd make the phone without that capability but I can't find any way to turn it off. Its driving me crazy.

I don't like that either if this setting doesn't exist I am sure they will include it in an update.

1) Anyone know whether that wireless ("over the air") update is scheduled for Dec. 11?
2) Can anyone confirm whether that update will include user option to turn off the vibration feedback on the four menu options immediately below the screen? Everytime one of those keys are pressed, and the phone vibrates, it's zapping the battery. That contributes to a battery that requires charging before the day's ended.
3) Other than choosing low brightness and disabling the auto backlight, what else can be done to conserve battery power? It's a super little phone, but having had it for only several days, the first that seems to go is the battery.

I know there is a way to do it, I just haven't found it yet. The previous suggestions only turn off the vibrate when texting....
Will post when I figure it out.....hopefully someone will figure it out before I can....
