Gotta love Verizon's new <deleted> policy.... No unlimited data, don't allow wi-fi to connect

I have 5 phones on Verizon... 1 Apple, 3 Android and you'll love this 1 Smart Media Feature Phone. Yes, I say that last part with sarcasm because when I tried to switch the feature phone for my mother in law from an Envy 2 to Envy 3 the system was trying to require a "DATA PLAN". When I called Verizon they said, "Oh, that's because the Envy 3 is what we call a Smart Media Feature Phone." LOL... Really, I used to date a hooker that called herself an escort too... didn't mean she wasn't a wh... well, you get the idea.

Now that they removed the unlimited data from everyone any time I try to connect to wi-fi it keeps giving me a connection ignored message due to a poor signal. I've tried all 4 phones and I have two different wireless connections at home, one on Verizon FIOS (75/35) and one on Charter Cable (100/5). It just keeps switching back and forth trying to connect to no avail. Funny how that didn't happen until they decided to soak everyone on DATA plans. I'm sure you'll all go through your measly 2 GB of data in no time without sharing time on Wi-Fi and that's what Verizon's counting on.

Just my perception from what I've experienced so far. Of course I have a new Razr Maxx that was bought in February and when the screen went out the person said I had to wait until December to get a replacement at a discounted rate and the phone only has a 90 day warranty. Called back and got another guy that said it's 1 year and is sending a replacement... WOW. Verizon is sinking faster than the Titanic.

Yes, because Verizon sent a signal to your phone to disable it from connecting to WiFi.

The Env3 is a multimedia phone; it used to require a data plan, but no longer does.  However, when you try to activate one, it does say a data plan is required.  Pick one, activate the phone, and then immediately call Customer Service and put a data block on the phone and have the data package removed.
