Is there an additional cost for the Google maps service or is it included in the data plan? Also, do both the HTC Droid Eris and Motorola Droid offer it? I'm trying to decide between the two Droids.
Thanks!

There is no extra cost for Google Maps. Dunno know if the Eris has access to it or not, though. Sorry!

There are no additional costs for Google Nav besides the required Data plan you need. The map data isn't stored locally, its fetched and rendered real-time just like Google Maps online.
Google Nav pnly comes with Android 2.0 so the Eris doesn't have it. However, the Eris is getting Android 2.0 within a few months and with it... Google Nav.
The Eris does include Google Maps though. Google maps is a mini navigation system as it does give you directions, but only in readable format (just like google maps online).
