This is kind of a dumb newbie question. I've finally finished transporting all my contacts from my old Palm Treo to Google Contacts and thus to my Android phone. I like Google Contacts' groups, and have created several for various business and personal purposes. These also show up as groups on my phone.
My question is, what's the purpose or use of the My Contacts group in Google? I'm interested in how people use it. Should I just dump all contacts into that? Or use it for people or businesses (from whatever other group) that I'm most likely to contact? But wouldn't the latter be what the starring feature on the phone would be for? I'd appreciate any thoughts on how best to use this feature.
Thanks in advance!

i use it to forward emails without needing to add each name individually, to folks in various groups.
groups change & i add/delete as necessary.
i have same groups in my primary email also.
i have several lists, stuff for the rude boys/x rated, preachers list, military, family, etc.

With all the customized groups (and that's kind of the way I organize things too), do you find any use for the My Contacts group as such?

yes, that's why i made the different email lists, not everyone in my contacts, is on any one of the email lists.
