Had a day with my phone (after tracking it down at the Fedex facility, waiting in line a half an hour there), so here goes.
First off, super fast, snappy performance, no hesitation moving through apps and menus. Good call quality. Split window multi-tasking works great. Beautiful screen, vibrant colors, great speaker.. Jelly bean works out well on the device. There isn't a lot to write in this category, because it's all perfect. This was what everyone waited for, it delivers. It's all just "there".
Here are the (very minor) annoyances I have observed:
1) Volume buttons get hit accidentally a good deal because of placement, but that's a matter of learning to put my fingers in the right place, after all this isn't the iphone I'm used to, it's just a wee bit bigger lol.
2) The phone doesn't display many signal bars for a given signal level. Now every phone is a little different, but I was used to the 4s and it's "optimistic" signal bar readings (almost always 4-5 bars), but that is because it will show 4 bars at -90db! This phone simply has a more realistic readout with the signal bars. You don't get 5 bars unless you are within 150 yards of a Verizon tower (you can see the tower clearly normally). Anything less is 4 bars, and they fall off quickly. My house which is a cellular dead zone for ATT, T-mobile, and Sprint, runs around -80db with this phone. That's still enough for good performance, but the phone will show 2 and occasionally 1 bar (if it dips down to say, -83db). Keep in mind, better than -100 is enough on Verizon to do the job in general, so it's still all good. I can't fault the phone, it's just something to get used to. I wish I could change the bars to a db reading like I could on the 4s, but no biggie really.
3) This ultra-wide, ultra-thin phone means finding the right case is essential. I have been through two and am still looking for one that is perfect, though I think the phone armor case I have on the way will be the one. I need something with some nubs, that is "grippy". I would cry if I dropped this thing!
