Review sites are saying the plan is not to support these functions even though they are some of the best new features of this phone.
This is unacceptable.

1) Isis is going to be the standard.
2) the wall street journal quoted verizon as basically saying that they will eventually allow the app to be downloaded from the market, once they have satisfied their security concerns with the service. (i would link the article, but you have to subscribe to wsj online to view it).
3)xda already has a flashable version that works. you can always go that route.
4) if it's not acceptable, don't buy it. i'm not trying to hate on this phone here......but i just don't get the big deal? specs are OK and it's clear that it won't be a pure google nexus device. google blogs and forums are still claiming it will get OS updates timely and directly from google. i aint buyin that. if verizon is restricting things and throwing a few of there apps on it, i just don't see how OS updates will be any quicker than any other phone. and i don't see how they will come from google, unless google adds the apps and restrictions for verizon.

oh noes, Verizon is the debil. Looks like in their quest to nitpick, a lot of people failed to realize that the Galaxy S 4G on Sprint is the ONLY nexus device that actually has it out of the box. Where are all the people with pitchforks hounding tmobile and AT&T?

haha. So true.
And clarification from Verizon.
http://news.verizonwireless.com/news/2011/12/pr2011-12-06a.html
12/06/2011 Statement from Jeffrey Nelson, spokesperson for Verizon:Recent reports that Verizon is blocking Google Wallet on our devices are false. Verizon does not block applications.Google Wallet is different from other widely-available m-commerce services. Google Wallet does not simply access the operating system and basic hardware of our phones like thousands of other applications. Instead, in order to work as architected by Google, Google Wallet needs to be integrated into a new, secure and proprietary hardware element in our phones. We are continuing our commercial discussions with Google on this issue.MEDIA CONTACT: Jeffrey Nelson Jeffrey.Nelson@VerizonWireless.com 908-559-7519
Saying they don't block apps is **bleep** though.

There was a thread on the old T-Mobile forum with oh, maybe 3 whole people complaining about the lack of Google Wallet. The only posts that I see on AT&T's forum about the Nexus S were two announcements about the Nexus S pre-order from Best Buy back in July. I take it AT&T customers weren't too fond of the Nexus S...I didn't check out the XDA forums.
AZSALUKI, my signal's bigger than your signal!

I know of one user on the ATT forum that now has the Nexus S and she loves it!
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Was it me? J/K, I don't think I discussed the Nexus S much on the AT&T forum.
