Yes, you read correctly. Rumors are that Verizon may pass on yet ANOTHER amazing device. They passed on the SGSII, and are now considering passing on the Galaxy Nexus. The FIRST device with Ice Cream Sandwich. If you are someone who is a phone enthusiast like myself. Go to this website with e-mails to all of the Verizon Executives and Marketing staff, and let them know we WANT the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon's wonderful 4G LTE Network.

And now we can finally put the fear mongering to rest. No real ETA or price but at least we have confirmation. http://www.droid-life.com/2011/10/21/verizon-makes-galaxy-nexus-official-coming-later-this-year/

Have you considered that Verizon haven't had good luck dealing with Samsung so they are simply making a business decision to stay away from problem devices. Plus they are carrying the iPhone and Apple and Samsung has been in legal battles and this may have some barrings also..
I am guessing and don't know for sure but this is something to consider as a possibility.

Not sure if you read, but Verizon is actually helping Samsung against Apple, not the other way around. For the simple fact Apple is trying to ban devices that Verizon carries that Samsung creates. If anything, you would expect the opposite. There are many speculations one could make as to why. The thing that needs to happen, is to let Verizon know that passing on devices like the Nexus isn't something consumers aren't going to stand for.

Verizon is definitely dropping the ball if they pass on this device! A lot of android lovers are wanting this phone and the ones with Verizon service will jump ship to another carrier if they do not release this device soon

If the Galaxy Nexus doesn't come to Verizon (I'm having Nexus One flashbacks here) then I will end my 10+-year membership with Verizon and join up with whoever does get it.

I think I speak for many who have waited for a phone like this. I am clinging to my OG Droid and I have yet to use my last 2 year renewal, hoping to find that one phone that would be as great as the first Droid. Now that Nexus is coming, I am planning on buying 2 (one for me and one for the Mrs.) If VZ passes on this, we are cancelling our plan and going with someone else. I love the network, but I hate these sorts of games.

Second, one of the videos clearly shows "Verizon" on the phone, then there's a pic showing the back of the phone and the "4G LTE" logo can be clearly seen. So this tells me that Verizon is pretty well invested in carrying this phone. Is it written in stone? No, not that I can see right away. But between what I've seen of Reddit lately, plus what I've seen in those videos and pics, I'm going with "it's coming to Verizon". And not prematurely blowing a fuse just yet.
Plus, folks, even if this turns out to be true, after my AT&T experience, lemme tell you what I would do before I would EVER consider another carrier...
I'D BUY A COTTON PICKIN' VERIZON IPHONE FIRST!!!!!!!!!
I believe I've made my point clear enough. That's the best I can do after a 26-hour day.

These days everyone is going after everyone so its to the point that snything is possible but it doesnt matter because there is no way I would leave a carrier for a device, what good is rge device it the netwotk isnt there? Plus I am not a Samsung fan...

Sure Reddit is good at stirring the pot and yes, I did wander over here from there. And I know that 100% of 99% of these rumors are mere speculation and fearmongering.
But what I can attest to is the massive run-around that Verizon is great at doing with regard to devices, e.g. Bionic. I was sold on that phone when it was announced in January, and we all know how that little fiasco turned out... Verizon is constantly underwhelming me with blah mid-level phones and selling them as "cutting edge." Trade my pure Android for bloatware and a phone I have to hack/mod/root to make useful? No please, and thank you.
I would absolutely leave this carrier if they don't provide the devices that I want. If all I needed was a feature phone, then I wouldn't worry about what devices and focus on the network. Here, the network is "meh." Call quality, data transfer rates, coverage, all these things are average and nothing better/worse than any other carrier. We don't have 4G and the response to when it will come is "sometime, maybe."
So I am sticking around because of this phone and waiting. If Verizon does get this phone, great! If they pass on it, or it goes into limbo mode for another 6 months while some other carrier launches it, then I will move to that carrier.

I am sure VZW will get this phone. The same time as others??? Who knows, bit I think VZW has been bitten too many times with new flavors of Android OS that end up screwing up the device, that they want to be sure the device will work and work correctly before releasing it.
