Go into all apps and locate the Flipboard app, do a shut down, clear cache & data and keep Flipboard shut down. Flipboard is a part of the Samsung news app that can't be uninstalled but shut down.

Can you be a little more thorough in the instructions? What do you mean "go
to all apps"? Go to all apps and shut down what my phone or hold the middle
button and close all? (FYI already did that). How do you clear the chache?
your answer brings up more questions than it answers.

First go to Settings and then to the app manager, next look at the top of the screen listings and scroll across to locate the word "ALL" . Scroll down the list with your finger tip until you find Flipboard listed. Tap the word Flipboard and than tap Force Stop. You can also tap the clear cache and data buttons at the bottom right of the screen. You can't remove this app but you will be able to Shut the app down so it will not run.
