Hi all,
My wife and I just got our Droids (Eris) a couple of nights ago and are thrilled with them.
The only thing is that at the time of purchase, we didnt' have Gmail accounts and the sales lady made 2 accounts, one for each phone.
We didn't like the email names we picked when we were at the checkout, and we later created a joint Gmail account that is very similar to our old Yahoo account, which is more convenient.
Problem is, I want to delete those 2 ugly email accounts the sales lady made for us.
Can anyone tell me how to do that??

It's my understanding that the only way to do that is to do a factory reset on the phone, meaning you'll have to reactivate it and start over from scratch, just as if it came right out of the box. A support rep at a Verizon store should be able to assist you with this.
Also, I'm not sure if two Android phones can be linked to the same Gmail account or not. That would be a good question to ask a Verizon rep as well.

You can do a factory reset yourself. I believe on the Eris it's Home>Menu>Settings>SD Card and Phone Storage>Factory Reset.
And yes, you can have two Android phones using the same e-mail. They will share contacts, howevever.

If I do the factory reset myself, will I have to take it in to be reactivated??
Also, any apps that I have installed will obviously be uninstalled, but when I go to Market to reinstall them, will I have to pay for them again?

You do not have to do a factory wipe. Goto settings>applications>manage application> scroll through and find all things google (gmail, gmail storage, google apps, etc.) and clear the caches/data of each. DO NOT uninstall these programs. Once you clear all the data/caches, reboot and go into your gmail account and you will be prompted to re-enter your gmail account.
