EARLY TERMINATION HELP!

So I recently got a plan from verizon in May (I regret doing so as keeping up with the bill is very difficult) My boyfriend has had horrible service but mine has not been that bad. our bill is very difficult for me to keep up with after I lost my job and he JUST got employed but has several bills in the new place he is living in.  However I cannot afford the termination fee either.  I was wondering if I were to let them shut my phone off and make a payment arrangement on the amount I owe, would this keep me from having to pay the termination fee if I say I do not wish to reactivate them as I am unable to afford this 2 year plan?  The termination fee is ridiculous and I am too far behind in the bills to afford this. I am freaking out here and looking for some help without getting too deep into debt. if someone could guide me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it!

If you terminate service early you will get an early termination fee. To avoid it, you can have someone else take over your contract or simply not pay it but you will be charged. Also it wouldn't hurt to call Verizon's Financial Services 866-266-1445 to make payment arrangements. They usually work with their customers.

I would say the Best way to go about this is to Talk to Financial Services) Let the Rep in this Dept. know what is going on and express it was a mistake getting the Line see if they can Work with you on possibly closing the account and paying it out..

The Early Term choice can be used but it depends on how long you'v been with the account to break down the cost a bit if it's been 6 months or slight under or over a year they can calculate the numbers and if your in a Smartphone contract it's $350

Here's the Terms from that accompanies the Contract..  Here's the Number to Financial Services  ( 1-866-266-1445 )

You may terminate service for any reason within 14 days of activation. If you purchased a wireless device at a promotionalprice at the time of activation, you must return it within the device return period to avoid being assessed an Early Termination Fee of $175, or $350 if you purchased an Advanced Device. You will remain responsible for your Activation Fee unless you terminate service within three days of activation. You will also be responsible for all applicable usage fees, prorated access charges, taxes, surcharges or other charges that accrued to your account through the termination date. If you paid a security deposit, it may take between 30 and 60 days to process the return of your security deposit. The charges for any service used on the account before the service termination date may be applied against your security deposit.
