Droid Battery

I want to buy an extra battery for my Droid.  I found one on Ebay but I've heard there are fake batteries that can ruin your phone.  If it has the same numbers on it as the one in my Droid...is it safe?

You should probably do some research on it though, if you give some more details, someone in here may have bought the same one and tell you how their experience has been.

I would recommend for the battery to be purchased through Verizon Wireless. You can view the prices of the batteries if you visit http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/accessory?action=refineBySubCat&subCatId=65&subCatName=Batt...

I have a friend who purchased an "extended battery" which was inexpensive on ebay. It didn't damage his phone at all, but it doesn't last as long as his standard battery that came with the phone. Your mileage may vary.

yeah...i bought 2 cheapies (and by cheapies, i mean that the have the HTC labels, but they are either used or knockoffs) on ebay for mine. they are 1500mah (or whatever the unit of measurement is?)  and the stock battery is 1300. the stock battery lasts slightly longer than the cheapies. however, i got them both with a charger for $12 total so i can't complain. they do the job in a pinch!!! have not damaged the phone at all.
