The bloggers reported and users on this forum have confirmed that JB shipped in early April for Droid 4. Yet the Support page for Droid 4 basically says that the only ways to get it are when Verizon sends it or the Phone requests it and Verizon sends it.
Given the battery and headphone issues I've seen on this forum, it would appear that Verizon pulled the update.
Can someone at Verizon shed some light on this? Normally, I don't go for the "Shiny" (with apologies to to Mel) but my ICS is chock o block messed up. I figure if I'm going to do a factory reset I might as well try the update first.

Related issues - finding help on this forum. I guess I'm just too stupid to own and operate a smart phone because I sure as heck am having fits with your site.
1. Having to log in twice - I don't care that this forum is SaaS or licensed from a 3rd party - I'm a VZ customer with a problem. That means I'm already flustered and need to do things QUICKLY
2. Search - doesn't (with NO apologies to the Moto/VZ/Droid marketing campaign). Try search for "DROID 4" and you get product info. Trying to post to a DROID 4 forum - there is no way to do that. I saw a post that said "Droid 4 Jellybean" and you can't pull that up via search. REALLY? (SNL Weekend Update).

If you are expecting VZW to come here and answer you question...you better not hold your breath as this is a peer to peer forum and sometime the moderators butt in with some help and to make sure everyone follows the TOS. Mostly the mod will leave you a link to some information on the VZW web site that you may or maynot already know. You may want to use search a little differently than just putting in "Droid 4" Search can be your friend but it needs a little more information than you give it for searching. You get what you ask when you search. If you can't get what you want here try searching with one of the web search engines and I know you will get plenty of hits. If you think you don't have time for all that then maybe you should try and use a different phone that maybe don't give you all these problems. Have your tried doing a factory reset? You say your phone is messed up without telling us any of the details. No one here is a mind reader. You need to give a detailed description of your issues. Have you even taken to Tech Support at a corporate VZW store? If you don't know how to do a factory reset on your phone, read your owners manual. If you don't know where that is then do a search for it but again don't just search for Droid 4 as you well know what you get with that. It will all take time and patience to get your phone back to what you think it should be and you will just have to roll with it unless you purchase a different phone. There is just no magic button to just push and fix your phone. Blowing off steam is one thing but your attitude in your post is just a little over the top here so calm down and have patience.

This is a customer peer-to-peer forum, not Verizon customer support. The moderators are NOT Verizon employees and their one and only job is to maintain some semblance of order on this forum. There are a few Verizon employees that chime in from time to time, but usually it is a week or two after a question has been asked and answered and it is seldom anything useful.

I upgraded to the Droid 4 in early March, and it had ICS when I got it. In less than 2 weeks, JB was pushed as an update - I didn't have to do anything to "get" it. Just reply to the prompt to do the update. Since I had a tablet that had already been updated to JB, and I'd only had the phone a week or so, I updated to JB. I haven't had any real issues. It was rebooting spontaneously and randomly, but I did a system cache clear and it hasn't done it since then.
You said your ICS is "messed up" - how so? And did you get a notification to update to JB? As another poster said, some details would help us to help you.

Thank you for your feedback, comments, criticisms, and advice.
For the benefit of those who may be able to use the Search feature
effectively, I will post a bit more about my current ICS issues and my
question about JB updates.
Phone shipped with pre-ICS, and updated to ICS about a week after ICS was
announced as shipping. I had to plug it in, access WiFi, then tell the
phone (via the Check for Updates command) to look for the update.
The phone is stock, I added a 32Gb SD card. key apps are Lookout for AV
purposes, TouchDown, and the Google App for Gmail. I keep everything else
off. I regularly unload/exit from Texting, Maps, Weather, etc ,etc to
preserve RAM and battery life. I reboot the phone on a regular basis. I
receive updates from Google Play automatically and every day. I charge the
phone every day.
The symptoms are frozen screens (during calls, TouchDown, Gmail, Maps,
browsers, etc). After 90 sec or so the apps seem to "release" and
functionality is returned. The orientation of the display will freeze
regardless of being in landscape or portrait.
Since the usual next step is to wipe the phone, and deal with some of the
security configuration issues that come with wiping the phone, it seemed
like I should figure out when JB would be available. Given that JB shipped
weeks ago, it seemed odd that my phone won't pull the update nor has the
phone notified me that the update is available. I did repeat the
WiFi/plugged in attempts both before and after a reboot.
So, I'm not really seeking help with the freaky phone, I'm looking for any
confirmation of JB still being available or not.
THEN I wanted to go on record stating that I was having problems with this
help app.
The fact that I logged back in and attempted to answer via FF only resulted
in:
*Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this
address in a way that will never complete.*
So I'm attempting to finish out my request with the email response.
Overall, my frustrations with my Droid, my OS, Verizon and this help app
only mount. Something that, in theory, someone at VZW would care about if
they knew. You probably don't agree, thank you.

+1 And the OP can help himself if he was to System Cache his phone and it probably wouldn't hurt to F.R. the phone before taking the update that's Jim done on his Maxx and that is what i done on my Maxx after the update i haven't had hardly any issues). I stream Music, Play Games, Send an Receive Text's, Go on the Web with very little issues non that i'm going to Complain about..

I went ahead and did the FR and the system immediately found the JB update
and started downloading it. It updated all the other apps on the phone
first. Then it updated to JB
Thoughts:
1. SOME Applications won't let you press the shift and then the key for
shifting, some do.
2. All my pics were preserved, including some I believe (?) were in
internal storage.
3. With the bit rot washed away the phone is FAST
4. I like the face recognition feature, it is learning quick and I swipe
when it is confused. Overall a plus.
5. Generally, like the new UI touches.
6. Like the "if I got WiFi I'm going to use it feature".
7. Message indicators are improved - I like that.
Dislikes:
1. While Google did restore my stuff, you do have to relogin. If you use 2
factor authentication, or really long Roboform generated passwords (and
user ID's) then you need to set aside some quiet time to re-establish your
comms.
2. I would have expected a single app to do both Hotmail and Gmail. I use
TouchDown for my Exchange server. Oh, there is a newer version of
Touchdown for ICS and JB. I like it better than the legacy version.
3. Can't figure out why Lookout AV forgot me and my data. May end up
ditching that app and doing Avast like I have on my Mac and my XP VM's.
4. The onboard Google Play apps aren't showing me how to distinguish
between apps I've purchased and apps they want me to purchase. I can do
that from my PC browser, but not from the phone...
I haven't tried the new voice commands yet, but may try that in the car
(that's where I need it the most so for me - that's the test that
determines if the feature has value).
I don't know about battery life as of yet.

A system cache clear on Android seems to be the equivalent of "quick pull" or a battery pull on BlackBerry if things get sluggish or behaving weirdly. Is there an app to do that "automagically" for you??

I do the two step authentication, and generated passwords for a lot of stuff too, and the additional re-setup time is OK with me - a bit of extra time for added security - after all , it did take some time to set up initially, and with a new OS, that essentially gave you a clean slate, it'll take a bit of work to get it set up again.
