Droid 3 won't move past the "DUAL CORE" start up screen

In October of last year, I purchase the droid 3. So far it's been a really solid phone. But recently, probably over the last month or so, it's slowed down quite a bit and will sometimes randomly shut off and restart without warning. Just this afternoon, it restarted itself again, but now it won't start up beyond the screen that says "dual core" with the motorola logo on it. I've tried restarting it multiple times by removing the battery and turning it back on. I've also attempted to do a system reboot, but that was also to no avail. Any advice on what I should do? Anyone else who has a droid 3 experience this problem?
