It might be the apps you have are updating and using data. I have my Moto X set to only update when connected to a WiFi.

I think its just Verizon, my phone has been doing the same the last couple months and I've had it for a couple years. My phone tells me 1gb used, but online says 3gb used. I feel like I'm being ripped off, just so that I could buy more monthly GB usage. I used to have unlimited usage and used my phone for streaming ALOT and my usage was never this high. now watching a movie is over 1gb. I don't know about you, but I feel they are ripping me off.

I agree!! It's Verizon. Its happening on my girls Iphone 5S' s they got for Christmas and they're doing nothing different than they did on thier Iphone 4S' s but the data usage has at least trippled if not more. Now were always incurring overages! Im so sick of the Greed!!

I have two iPhone 5s devices and I use Kilobytes or megabytes not gigabytes. And yes I have unlimited but I am mainly on WiFi.
At home at the car dealers, the market etc. They have free WiFi.
I firmly believe it is an Apple issue just check out their forums at http://www.apple.com
It is happening more on Verizon because they have the most customers. But the other carriers are getting hammered with similar complaints.
Good Luck

You should live within your contracted data allowance and you won't incurr overages, then you won't have to blame others for actions that you have control over.

You are obviously ignorant of the issue. Read up on it before judging!

I don't want to see you with unexpected usage, Primo805. Did you notice this change in usage occur after a specific application was installed? Or perhaps after an update to your phone? What model device are you using? We can find out what's going on with your data and get it back on the right track.
