First let me say I love the Droid (my first fancy phone) and this community here. I have been reading the board for several nights now, and I have a few tabs going that I'm switching back and forth on. I do, however have a question on creating or finding folders on my sd card.
I finally figured out how to connect to my pc. Well...first let me tell you what I'm trying to do. I want to transfer ringtones to my phone to use as ringtones and notifications. And I want to transfer several documents. If I have pdf documents on my phone, and I connect my phone to a printer, can I print them?
I've read quite a few threads on this. Now...when I open up the drive on my computer....there is no folder marked ringtones, or music or phone....these are the folders that are on my phone:
footprints, mail, amazonmp3, .com, DCIM, download, praxias. Thats all.
do I create my own folders?
Thanks in advance and thanks for taking the time to read.

If you want it to recognize regular songs, you can just click and drag music into it, or create a folder labeled "Music."
As far as ringtones, and notification sounds, it SHOULD work with:
Create a folder with the name "Audio"
Within the folder, "Audio", create the two folders "Notifications" and "Ringtones". Place your music files there as needed.
If not, I really wouldn't know anything else ASIDE from using the app Ringroid for your ringtone needs.
Hope this helps,
Cheers.

You can just make any folder, and the phone will detect folders and files.
For the ringtone, unless you want to manage ringtones, you can just open Music, play your file, then select "Use as ringtone" from the menu (hit menu button at the bottom of the phone). This is the easy way if you just have one or two files you want to set as a ringtone.
