Just got my new HTC One m8. There is an IMEI bar code label on the back of the phone. Any reason it needs to stay on there? It's pretty ugly sitting on that pristine metal case...

kapuku, Congrats on the new phone! We would recommend leaving the bar code label there. You can use a case to cover the back of the device. Check out what accessories we offer here: http://vz.to/17ycvC

The label contains information information about your device including the serial number and IMEI number which is needed to activate the phone on the network.

If it is anything like the original HTC One they include three more in the box.
I just took mine off since it did make that shiny case look crappy with it stuck on there
Good Luck

The information contained in those labels are also located on the side if the box.
