Can I do a prepaid plan with a droid 4?

I recently bought a used motorola droid 4 and am getting conflicting information regarding whether or not I have to have a contract or can do a prepaid plan. It currently has no SIM card in it.

Unfortunately, no ... you can't use the Droid 4 or any 4G phone on a prepaid plan.
