The touchscreen on my Droid goes blank whenever I call in to check my voicemail messages. This is a problem because while on the call I need to use the touchscreen to enter digits to navigate the voicemail menu. Even stranger, the blank screen will sometime flash active for a second or so, at which time I can--if I'm quick--access the touchscreen. I don't want to have to use the slide-out keyboard because the number keys are not dedicated, which makes entering passcodes and such cumbersome. Is this normal and, if so, I can I "fix" it? Thanks for any help anyone can offer and have a wonderful holiday season!

If you are covering the top portion of the phone, the proximity sensor will blank the screen. I just tried it on mine.(up where it says Motorola) Also, what is your screen time out set to?
