Not sure I'm doing this right... I have a Motorola Droid 3. Originally had backup assistant, but it stopped working a few months ago. I got a message "Subscription cannot be confirmed". I was instructed to call customer support. They had me install backup assistant PLUS. OK. But, it doesn't back up my contacts. My phone still tries to sync every night... and still fails. Even when I try to sync manually, I get the same message.
Can someone please help me figure out how to back up my contacts? I searched the previously asked question -- all had instructions, but for different phones.
So very much appreciate it!

If you have signed in for Gmail when you got the phone, all your contacts will automatically be kept by them. When you get a new phone and sign in for Gmail again, they will automatically be sent to your new phone. Not to worry.

I have a similar situation with my Droid Incredible 2
Frequently, like several times a day, I get this message:
The application Backup+ media (process.com, vcast, media manager) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Each time I click on the option - - force close. Sometimes it goes away promptly, but mostly I have to force close a few times.
PLEASE ADVISE!

Is there any way I can see the contacts through Gmail? I would like to confirm that it is working...

You can sign into Gmail from a computer browser and verify the contacts are there.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

The backup assistant is looking for a username/pwd probably. I had the same issue yesterday and today I got the message again but it prompted me to enter my email and password which I didn't know. Just follow the questions on the screen and you may have to try several times. (Strange)
Then go to verizonwireless.com-->click on My Verizon towards the top-->Once you click there, you'll see a drop down menu, click on BACK UP MY CONTACTS. Scroll down the page until you see Backup Contacts or How to....
Also, when you open GMAIL, on the far left side you'll see Google and underneath that is Gmail with a small arrow next to it, click that and click CONTACTS.

Hey there LeahMoody. Sounds like your having trouble with the Backup assistant application and I am here to help get it fixed. I am clumsy when it comes to remembering phone numbers. I can't even remember my own mothers phone number, so I understand how important it is to have these contacts backed up.
One thing I want you to check to make sure is to make sure that you have WiFi turned off. Backup assistant will not back up your contacts while connected to WiFi.
If you are not connected to WiFi and you are still having issues syncing then lets try resetting the application. Visit http://vz.to/xb6jro for the steps on how to reset the application.
Please try these steps Leah and let me know if the issue persists.
