That makes me a little nervous. I also have unlimited data, and was told if I upgraded to a 4G phone my plan would be grandfathered to unlimited data. Did you call VZW about this, and if so, what was their response? VZW employees please chime in and clarify if this is true, that unlimited data is only granfathered to certain 4G phones?

Yes, I called customer service, and the guy I talked to told me that I still had unlimited data. What he failed to mention, I guess, is that it only was for my old phone and not for my requested Rezound (which shortly was swapped for a Spectrum). So be careful when you talk to them. Check the list of 4G phones and if it says that a particular phone is not covered by your plan, believe it and pass it up. Unfortunately, the phones covered by my plan was limited to phones I was not interested in, such as the Motorola Razor/

It's unfortunate that only Sprint has unlimited data. Data is as precious as oil, and becoming almost as expensive. I'm almost willing to bet that even Sprint will have various tiers of data plans. From what I understan, the majority of people stay within the 2GB limit. It's a handful of people who gobble up data. Hey! It's like the army. One guy messes up and the whole platoon is punished.

You don't lose your unlimited plan because you went from a 3G to  4G phone. I have bought both the Motorola Razr to replace the clam shell (Acolaide) phone that my wife had, and I replace a first generation Motorola Droid with a new LG Spectrum just last month and in both cases the unlimited never left either account. I presently use a Apple iPhone 4 with unlimited data however its 3G and I have never lost my unlimited data plans on any of the 3 phones.

You have to go into a store stand there and verify that the sales clerk makes no changes to your existing plan other than the removal of your old phone and the activation of your new phone. It makes no difference if it is 3G or 4G nothing but the ESN or MEID should be changed in the Verizon system.

If anyone took away your unlimited via you buying an upgraded phone go into the corporate store and have them change it back. You can take Verizon to smalls claims court to void out your contract if they pull this sort of tactic and I am sure they will fix the error that was made by their sales person rather than lose a customer.

If you do walk because of this boo boo and they try and charge you an early termination fee, simply take them to court and ask for the same amount they want plus court costs. But I am certain Verizon will correct the error. They don't want people leaving over something so fixable.

Bought the LG Spectrum a few days ago. One thing that is really bugging me is that it does not have a LED Indicator to notify you if you have a text message, email or voice mail. That should be standard on a phone. This little detail is bugging to the point that I will probably return it for the iphone. I upgrade to the Spectrum from the Incredible and thought I finally found a decent phone to keep me with Android. Well I guess not.

Samsung phones don't have a led notification light either, so I never missed it because I never had one on my Fascinate, but can see how you would if you're use to it. If it really bugs you but you otherwise like the phone, you can download an app from the market called NoLed, which was developed for phones without the led notification. I can't comment on how good it is because I don't use it, but it gets good reviews from the market.

For notifications of email, message arrival, download the noLED app from the Android Market.
