So, I want to buy something like the Droid Charge from eBay and use it with 3G (no 4G is currently in this dead state called Maine), would that be possible with the $50/month plan advertised for the prepaid phones sold in stores?

From the information I see on the Prepaid pricing page at http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/plans/?page=prepaid it looks like the cheapest option it gives you for a smartphone is about 80.00 or more dollars

I dont see why not, as long as the plan you are speaking of is a smartphone prepay plan... As for the 4G part, I do not think there is a 4G prepay plan existing now anyway so I dont know how that would work on prepay with a 4G device anyway...
The best way to be sure is to call CS and verify their policies..

Thank you for your help!
However, I see that Verizon's lowest Talk plan is 450 minutes per month for $45! I'm not over 18, and do not have a job, so this is disappointing to me. I could, however pay for the data, but would it be possible for PAYG minutes? On average, I use 6 minutes per month.
Thank you,
Payton

Ah man, I'll probably just get a phone from crappy T-Mobile on their prepaid plan. Thank you for your help along the way.
