If you aren't comfortable doing the update manually, then wait for the OTA. It is supposed to be completed by the 18th, but there's not really anything you can do to make it faster other than manually installing the update.

If you positively cannot wait for the OTA update do the manual one.
No amount of posting to these forums with "still waiting..." is going to help.

My wife tells me all the time I need to work on developing more patience.
I always just reply "Oh great, how long is THAT gonna take?"

You really CAN'T miss a step if you download the update.zip file and FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS. It took me all of 20 minutes to download anthen install on both my and the BW's ( Beautiful Wife ) droids. Here's a certified download and instruction site;

It's easy. Easier than waiting for Verizon or calling them to basically find out nothing.
