It's the 16th and still no update for my Droid. I am getting conflicting end dates when they are going to stop the updates on this for the original Droid. It's getting really hard to wait for the ota update and just not install it manually. just don't really want to brick the phone be ause I missed a step.
If you aren't comfortable doing the update manually, then wait for the OTA. It is supposed to be completed by the 18th, but there's not really anything you can do to make it faster other than manually installing the update.
Weird that my husband got his update Monday morning and I haven't yet. I have been waiting for what seems like FOREVER and he could care less. Total bummer and I don't trust myself to do the manual update. I am so impatient right now!!!!!!
Patience has never been a virtue of mine. Ask my wife. she'll gladly tell anybody. Especially when it comes to gadgets and electronic equipment. Here it is now and still no update.
For somewhere around 2 weeks there has been a "manual" install option. If you positively cannot wait for the OTA update do the manual one. No amount of posting to these forums with "still waiting..." is going to help.
You really CAN'T miss a step if you download the update.zip file and FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS. It took me all of 20 minutes to download anthen install on both my and the BW's ( Beautiful Wife ) droids. Here's a certified download and instruction site;
