I understand completely now. Thanks! Won't be long 'fore all the country will be 4G available, then, what is next? 5G? Or, will they call it 4G Quad or whatever. Maybe 4G Quantum?

There is separate volume settings in-call while on speaker or regular, or even using a headset. If you press the volume rocker while in a call using these different methods, you can adjust the volume.  Whatever you leave it at is what it will be when you come back to that call method.  (i.e., if you have volume cranked to max on speaker, but have it about halfway for regular calls, you can go back and forth between the two and the volume will change back to where it was when you last used that call method.)
