2 LG Ally phones and 2.2

I have two LG Ally phones, one for me and one for my wife. They were bought at the same time under the same plan in the same store.  My phone received the notice to upgrade to 2.2, but her phone has not.  Any idea why?

OTA upgrades are psuedorandom and who gets it rolled out to is outside your control. She'll get 2.2 eventually.

However if she hasn't gotten it in the next month, you might need to look into why it wasn't pushed to the phone.

Same problem here. Two Ally phones, purchased at the same time, from the same store and on the same account. One phone received the 2.2 update about 6 weeks ago, around the middle of January. The other phone still has yet to be upgraded. Is there anything that I can do to initiate the OTA update?

Go to Menu>Settings>About Phone>System Updates click on it and it should show up.

I've tried that several times over the last month. Along with turning the phone off and on and pulling the battery. Keeps saying my phone is up to date, though it's still 2.1.

Try the force update trick. Here it is:

Open the dialer and dial:

*#*#checkin#*#* (the translation is: *#*#2432546#*#*)

and press send.

I did this from the time the roll out started and I got the update in about 3-4 days of the start.

We have two LG Allys that we bought at the same time.  How can I tell whether or not I'm on ver 2.2?  I followed the instructions for downloading updates but It says I already have the latest one.  However, I don't seem to have the same functions that my husband has.  Where can I find that information?

Menu button > Settings > about phone > look for android version on the phone. It might be buried under software or system. Select each option until you find it.
