So how many of u have and love swype, it does take some time to get used to but what a great app. Incredible user

I have only had beta, and me using the physical keyboard (Droid 1) seems to work faster, but I have seen some crazy typing on an X.

Is swype going to be available for the Incredible with the 2.2 Froyo update? I have asked in the store and have been told by tech that they "think" it will be in the 2.2 update.   I am thinking about exchanging my Incredible for the Droid X or the Fascinate (when it comes out next week), because I want swype.

I don't know that I would trade a Dinc for Dx over just the Swype app. Swype will be available at some point for Android, not just the X. You might get lucky enough to catch Swype releasing the occasional beta version. I got that version on my original Droid and it worked great.

 

I think you have to go to the Swype website and sign up to be notified when they release it.

 

But I understand the motivation for wanting to trade phones to get it. It's great.

I love the SWYPE feature built into the Samsung Fascinate!! My only concern is the "Bing" as the default search engine and not having 2.2 OS on my phone out of the box.

I received the froyo update and no swype was not included and the Swype website is not just offering the app with those of us who didn't receive it on their phone.  I really don't understand why its not available to everybody, its the best app out there and only those who knew about it and knew to sign up for it were eligible to get it.  I didn't get my incredibly until july and didn't know about signing up for the app, was able to download from a droid forum and now my trial period has expired...please if anyone knows how to get it if you are not a beta user please post a link...thanks

Oh, gosh, then this post just answered a question I posed in another Dinc thread about Swype being included with the 2.2 update. 

 

From what I can gather, Swype is being developed for more and more phones. And they don't seem to be in a big hurry about it. 

 

If they could include it on the Omnia II, surely they could find it within their hearts to get it ready for all these Android phones...:smileyvery-happy:

I think it is funny it is included with the D2, since the D2 has a full keyboard.
