Getting emergency alerts

No, I didn't misread or misunderstand you.  Under Settings on my phone, I can configure which alerts I get and which I don't get, even though my phone isn't capable of getting alerts.  If you don't believe me, get a phone of my model, go to Settings, More, Emergency Alerts and tap on the ... at the top right.  Click on Settings and see for yourself.

The list shows that the ASUS ZenFone V Live model #

ASUS-A009 is on the list. 

Once you click on Settings, do you see the following?

1. From the 'Emergency alert settings' section, select any of the following to enable or disable:
   Enabled when a check mark is present.

   • Show extreme threats

   • Show severe threats

   • Show AMBER alerts

   • Turn on notifications

   • Vibrate

   • Speak alert message

If you do not see the list, what do you see?

Yes, and all three types are turned on.  As I've written before, all of the settings are right.

I haven't changed anything on my phone, but now I'm getting alerts.  As far as I'm concerned, this thread is closed.
