Results of service issues

I have a Samsung 9S that recently went from having 3/4 bars to two and less and often none.  My inquiry with support came back that the service is bad where I am at, and I have  3 options.   My options were to change the phone to WiFI settings, HD settings or purchase the extender for $249 dollars.  I already have a WIFI extender in my house so is this just for Verizon equipment?  My poor service is not just at my house but in many of the areas that I actually switched services so that I could be reached.  Is it safe to assume the extender is only going to help in the house?   As to the switching to WIFI,  I have always been told to only use that as a last resort.  How can I go from having very good service to poor service?  I am not sure I will get any answers to my concerns but I am very disappointed that I have basically been advised that too bad.  You have a 4g phone but we can no longer give you the service for that phone.  I was also advised that since I am near a major highway everyone using their phone is weakening my signal.   I don't lose signals on that highway, I lose the signal in my own town and surrounding areas.   I have had to jump off calls because of the connections or I am cut off while speaking to someone.   Has anyone had similar issues or any ideas that I could try?

MaryArlene1, we are saddened to hear that you have seen such a change in your service. As most of us are home more these days than anywhere else, having that connection is crucial. The Network Extender is a great option to provide a more stable connection within a range of up to 7,500 square feet and supports up to 14 devices at once. However, this device and how well it performs, will be based on the speeds of your home service. Before considering an extender, I would want to ensure that you complete a speed test on the home service for us and send the results. As to Wi-Fi or HD Calling, in years past many shied away from using these features. However, with the end of the 3G network, Wi-Fi or HD Calling has become a great option to help improve the connection when Wi-Fi is available. Especially since, unlike the extender, there is no extra cost to do so. You mentioned that the service used to be great at this location, do you recall any changes to the area? For example, new construction or an unusual storm that may have passed through creating damage?
