Just bought my Verizon MiFi 5510L a few days ago to replace my previous USB Verizon wifi connection. The tested download speed is only 0.13 Mbps for a single device vs USB at 5 to 7 Mbps at the same location and on same computer. Why? The only change is a new MiFi 5510L vs. a Verizon USB of ~ 3 years old.
