After dealing with this issue for months, and then reading about all of the issues ofther have had with not apparent solution, I am ready to go back to my 2200 which worked perfectly. Has there been a permanent solution from Verison on this problem? I am very unhappy with this product!

Verizon has not made any announcements related to "fixing" or "repairing" Dormant Mode. The only problem that has been resolved was the automatic switching from 3G to 4G networks. You can read more about that fix the patch notes of the most recent firmware update.
