I would like to use a GSM sim card in my Galaxy Samsung S3 SCH 1535 phone. I think I need an unlock code. Can anyone help me?

If your GSM sim is for a network in the US, i.e. T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon will not unlock your sim to operate on these  networks. If the network is foreign, Verizon should be able to give you an unlock code, but they may require you to join some kind of international calling plan.

webmagnets, I seen your smoke alert. I'm here to help! If you currently have Verizon Wireless service, we can retrieve a SIM card from one of our local store locations, http://vz.to/3SdsA Are you planning on using that device Internationally? For more information regarding your options to use this device while internationally traveling, click http://vz.to/3SdsA

I don't think the S3 needs an unlock code.  They are not supposed to SIM lock 4G world phones.

Lasina, both links you provided are the same, leading to the store locator. Did you mean to give a different link for more information on international travel options?

Thanks, but that page has no "information regarding your options to use this device while internationally traveling".

I came across http://support.verizonwireless.com/support/faqs/InternationalServicesandRoaming/global_phone_roaming.... General FAQ 11 says that 4G phones are unlocked by default and 3G phones can be unlocked through Customer Service. It still doesn't give specific instructions for the Galaxy S3, including any info about editing APNs and so forth, which I've read elsewhere is a problem.

Jehosephat,

Sorry about that. Looks like we got a little happy on the copy and paste button. This would be the link with information regarding international travels http://bit.ly/xZd3pS. Now it does not break down each phones option, but overall Global Support needs to be contacted to make sure all provisions are set before travels. We wouldn't want someone standed without phone use once they are out there. Let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist.

Thank you,
