Back Up IPhone Broken Screen

I have an IPhone 4 where the screen broke and looks like the movie The Matrix. I need to get the photos and texts off of it before I replace it. When I plug it into ITunes to back up it can't access it due to the password lock. However, I can't unlock it because of the screen. The touchscreen still works you just can't see where to hit it. I've tried guessing and it isn't working.

Any ideas on how to get it unlocked without deleting whats on it or how to back up the photos and texts another way would be greatly appreciated.

Hello paul.whitener!

Sorry to learn about the screen of your iPhone 4 and not being able to unlock the screen. Have you backed it up w/iCloud? This will back up pictures, but not texts. If you do have iCloud, you can use this link to get at least the pictures from it:
