Do you have a Verizon account?  Is there currently a phone active on the number you want to use the iPhone on?

Can you dial *228 option 1 or *611 for customer service?

I'm excited for your iPhone 4! It's a great phone & I know you're going to love it. There are a couple ways to activate your phone. As mentioned you can dial *228 - call & choose option 1 or you can activate via iTunes!
