Can someone help me out unlocking the LG Spectrum 2? It has dual mode (CDMA and GSM). Thank you.

Are you traveling abroad? I believe that is the only way Verizon will unlock a phone.

And are you a Verizon Customer? And even if unlocked, you can not use the GSM service in the US.

I am a verizon customer. This phone is both CDMA and GSM, so I would be able to use it in the US.

Um no you can't. Verizon is not going to unlock the phone and allow you to use it with another carrier, sorry.

Brian is correct. They will unlock the phone for out of the country GSM use. However, VZW and also all the other carriers will not unlock the alternative service for use in the US.

I know this is an old post but its my understanding that since legislation was passed either in the later part of 2013 or early part of 2014 Verizon or any other carrier HAS TO UNLOCK the phone it it is out of contract and can be used with either GSM or CDMA. The carriers are trying to close the loophole with new legislation again.
