Hi estehlar,

Don't nuke your phone, let's trouble shoot instead! The issues outlined in your post are commonly caused by 3rd party app conflicts. I recommend removing any antivirus or power saving application from your phone as those apps in particular tend to create system conflicts. If removing those apps do not resolve issue, remove most recently installed apps and test. You can also run your Droid 2 in Safe Mode http://goo.gl/giDwY to disable all 3rd party apps and see if issues stop while in safe mode.
You can also do a factory reset http://goo.gl/cfWkm and then install your 3rd party apps one at a time and test between installs to identify the bad application and then remove it for good. Keep us posted.

Yes just trouble shoot your phone again! I am sure the third time is a charm!

However, if your like me and had to do this about... five times. You know your phone has something wrong with it and it isn't you. I'd like to just blame the phone company and move on...

After experiencing the same type of touch screen problems on my D2G that everyone else has been complaining about, I searched the internet trying to find a remedy.

I had uninstalled all the 3rd party apps but that didn't solve the problem. I did a factory reset (reluctantly).  That didn't fix the problem either.

Then I found a post from Katie H, VZW Support, in response to a post from JoulesWinfield.  In it she gave a link with instructions to start the phone in safe mode:  http://tiny.cc/p6j3iw.  I started my phone in safe mode and found that Adobe Flash was still there. I uninstalled it, and low and behold, NO MORE SCREEN PROBLEMS! Thanks Katie H!

Good luck!

No, you're right! Let's not nuke your phone, let's nuke all verizon towers ( a figurative joke homeland security!!!!)!!! Are you guys just preprogrammed responses instead of humans?!?!?!? WE'VE ALL TRIED THIS B.S.!!!!! The phone is hot garbage and so is verizon customer service!!!! Just cuz motorola, etc. rapes you guys, it doesn't mean you have to pass along the STD you inherited!!! Oh wait, I guess that is big biz protocol now isn't it?!?!

We are all beginning to weigh the pros & cons of coverage vs. a phone that even functions whether it can receive a signal or not!!! What good is coverage when the phone you bought for $200 can't even function??? Huh? HUH?!?!?
