I never jump on forums to complain about phones, but the the news of the 920 going to AT&T while every other carrier gets 820 variants is totally BS.

Android is terrible, Apple is rotting, get with the program VZW!!

Verizon is too conservative with their phones selection on top of the point that most of their phones are sub-par. After the asinine statement about unlimited data on now this, Verizon is just...

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I've creating a Facebook page dedicated to this cause where you welcome to share your thoughts and feelings about the presence, or lack thereof, of the Lumia 920 on Verizon. I feel that if we can combine our force into one dedicated effort perhaps we'll just be to hard to ignore.

I liked the page, and I also created a bit.ly for you, and added it to my poll page.  Here's the bitly I created:

Good luck with this, but....  probably an exercise in futility!   I'm pretty sure Verizon Wireless have made up their minds as to what Windows-based phones they will sell in the near future.   This is based on the view of potential sales, but also of course on cost (cost of phone, distribution, support etc).  So, if the decision is currently against the 920 or similar, you are going to have to demonstrate a huge demand from people who WILL buy the phone if released on Verizon to shift the needle.  (And of course they may well have decided to release a variant soon anyway, in which case you will be happy!)

Silver, I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that you are absolutely right, perfectly on the mark.  But it certainly won't hurt us to try, and it's not costing us anything.  The domain name for the verizonwp7.com that I created is a domain that I bought in January and wish I'd followed through with my idea back then, and cost me under $5 then, and I already had hosting, so it's just piggy backing on my other hosting, so I thought I'd finally put it to use.  But I figure if we don't start making noise with Verizon at some point, they'll never hear anything from us, and they'll continue to mow us down, then when they do reach that point that is unacceptable, it will be the first noise we ever make, and no one will know how to organize and make noise loud enough for them to hear.  So let's get started now, figure out what it takes for them to hear us, so that when they decide that $10 a megabyte is what they want to charge, or whatever the line is that they decide to cross that we the people decide is not going to be crossed, we know how to organize our noise so they hear it.

Interesting.....

Several weeks back I'd sent an email to several Verizon execs through the web site, explaining my views on their need to carry a high end Windows Phone, and pointed out that they'd been cited several times in the press as supporting Windows Phone as the third "strong" ecosystem, and "we made Android what it is, we can do the same with Microsoft" blah blah blah...

I did the same thing last year prior to Trophy's release and got to speak with one of the exec assistants, whatever her title actually is, I don't know.  I won't reveal her name, as that wouldn't be right, and probably violates terms here anyway.  Well, she'd called me back after the message I sent several weeks back, and we spoke again, and she even remembered me.

The way the process worked, after submitting my message on their webform was that they sent me an email, and I was to forward that message to an email address contained in their email, with my Verizon Wireless account number or phone number, and a number I could be reached at, and they would contact me.  Probably their elaborate way of weeding out those not so serious about talking to someone.  I did so.

So last week, I decided to reply to that message again, sending along MORE information - information about the (then) rumored upcoming ATT unveil of the 920 in NYC, and to tell Verizon that ATT was going to (once again) beat them out of the gate.

Friday I received a call from this person at Verizon again but I was at work, so it went to voice mail.  After work I called her, and she said it was about my voice mail.  I hadn't called her, so she said it must have been an old message that somehow came up.  I told her that I had sent another email, but just wanted to send new information, she said ok, and that was it.

This morning, first thing, she called again, she had just received my email, asked me if ATT has released the phone, and I told her that they announced Friday that they will release it on November 4.  Boy it is nice to be able to give her solid information this time instead of rumors.  I also told her about the web site I created, and gave her the URL www.verizonwp7.com, and told her that at the bottom is a button where she could click to see the results without taking the poll if she wants.  I told her that there are only just over 500 votes, but I'm just a nobody with no name recognition, and no real way to get it out there other than twitter, and she said, "No, 500 voices is a lot of voices.  I'll take a look, and I appreciate it."  I did make sure to tell her that so far the results were bouncing between 96% and 97% wanting that one single phone.

So while we may not get this particular phone, at this particular time, maybe, just maybe, we are making progress.  Also, just in case some may not have seen it, WPCentral ran an article on Friday, there may just be a chance for us.  That 822 may not be just a variant of the 820... It may be something more than that.  Let's hope.  Check out the article:

It doesn't appear that you even read the post directly above yours, let alone this one, which suggests that you just hang on.  Unless having THE phone on day zero is that important to you, then have at it.
