This is what my droid started doing not even an hour ago.
No Service
BP paniced
into BP core dump mode
saving BP core bump fail
switch to BP bypass mode
then it shuts off & restarts

That doesn't sound good at all. I hope you are up and running now. I will be more than happy to provide further information just in case.
The first thing I would attempt would be to pull the battery and sim card for about 10 seconds and reassemble the phone. If the issue still persists you would actually have to reset your phone using the "Alternate Reset" option listed here:
