I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I think if you upgrade early its over the phone and they will not let you upgrade to an iPhone early.I tried to get them to move mine up a week early so I could go to store and buy it and that was a no go too.

Several of us who still enjoy unlimited data plans have no choice but to pay the full cost of the phone if we want to keep our unlimited plan

they aren't going to let you upgrade early. it's not just the iphone. the rarely let anyone upgrade early anymore. but since it is the iphone, they definitely won. i highly doubt they want a couple million early upgrades on their books. also, where would you draw the line? if you got the 4 on day one then you probably have an upgrade a couple weeks after the 5 launches, so where do you draw the line? 2 weeks early? 3 weeks early? if they were to let you go 2 weeks early and i needed it to be 2 weeks and 3 days early then what? there won't be early upgrades.

I actually spoke to a rep today about this...and I know it can vary depending on who you talk to. My upgrade is due next week, so I asked if they would move it up as they had in the past. Said he couldn't anymore...they used to be able to move them, at the rep's discretion, when a person was within 30 days he said. This seems true because on at least 2 occasions I had my upgrade moved up before this. Never a lot, usually just a week or 2. It's disappointing just from a standpoint that yeah its a phone but these things always seem to go into backorder unless you can get a preorder.

Hi there markus_hudobnik. We completely understand the need of having the latest and coolest devices. Although we are not offering early upgrades, you may upgrade an alternate line on your account that may be eligible. Dial #UPG Send to check the upgrade dates on alternate lines. Additionally, you have the option to purchase the device for full retail. Go to vzw.com/iphone to view pricing and features of the device.
Thank you,
