How do I use ringtones received in a text message?

I just got a Droid Razr.  I purchased two ringtones from Verizon who sent the ringtones by text message.  How do I save them so that I can use the ringtones?  There is no option in the text message containing the ringtones to save or use as ringtones.  Hope someone can help me.  Thanks.

Is there an icon or something in the text message you received? If so, the hold down on the icon for a few seconds, and a menu of options should appear.

Similarly,

I have a ringtone in "My Library", how do I put it on the list of ringtones available to my phone? I'd like to use this particular ringtone to identify incoming calls from a friend. thanks for help.

Yeah, you'll do what "B33" suggested, but I believe you'll actually have to click the song or rather long-press it until a menu pops up.  Then, at least this has been my experience, you click an option that says something such as "Set This Song As Caller ID", I'm pretty sure your phone will say something similar but it could be worded differently depending on the phone skin or operating system.

Also, if you do not want to set the entire song as the caller ID ringtone, because it will only play the first 15 to 40 seconds of it starting from the beginning of the song.  You also might choose to download a ringtone editing/editor application, that way you can edit out your favorite part of that song to set as your friend's caller ID ringtone.  I would warn though to be cautious about which ringtone editor app you download and use.  I personally would not download any edotor app that has over four permissions, and make sure those permissions are vital to the app's functions, i.e. Modify/Delete Memory Card, Read Phone State and Identity, Read Contacts, etc.  I say be weary because, a lot, and I mean a ton, of the ringtone editor apps available on the Market, have extremely uneeded and potentially dangerous permissions being requested when you install them, and I think a good portion of them are actually phising expeditions meant to harvest advertising related data about the user, and they amount to nothing more than malware or adware in my opinion.

Swilli3333, congrats on your new Droid RAZR! I'm sure you'll enjoy this device! Now let's get your ringtones working! To save ringtones, you'll need to tap and hold them message. Here is some info from our support site. It gives instructions from Email, but it is the same process via messaging: http://bit.ly/PWOw9S.

Let me know if you need additional assistance.

I have a Droid Razr M.  Hook it up with a pc...look in the internal storage files under Messaging.  File should be there... Cut the file and go to the Ringtone folder and paste it there.  I had to do this for it to work just now.
