I cannot locate the Balance Display option using the directions Menu -> Settings & Tools -> Display Settings -> Balance Display.
My Display Settings menu does not include a Balance Display option.
I asked customer service about this and they had nothing useful to offer. Their suggestion was that I go to a Verizon store and have someone help me find it! lol
I have a basic Verizon Samsung Gusto flip phone, if that matters....
Any advice? Thanks....

I just looked through the Samsung Gusto manual, and there is no mention of a "Balance Display" option. Why do you think it should be there?

Because it's a prepaid phone, and the documentation packaged with the phone gives those directions for keeping track of the balance.

This is what I see in the documentation for the Prepaid Samsung Gusto:
Account Balance Display
Account Balance Display allows you to view your balance and
payment date on your phone. Set Account Balance to Show in the
home screen or set it to Hide if you do not want it to display.
1. From the Home screen, press MENU ➔ Settings
& Tools ➔ Display Settings ➔ Balance Display.
2. Highlight Show or Hide and press to save.

Yes, those are the directions I have too.
However... as I said earlier
MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ Display Settings ➔ has no option called "Balance Display"

Maybe the phone was setup for a regular plan, not a prepaid, because I didn't see those directions in the regular phone menu. You probably should go to the store if you want that option on the phone. Otherwise, you could just use the #BAL option to get it.

Interesting...
This phone had never been set up before. I personally struggled to open up the clamshell packaging on this brand new phone.
To use the #BAL option, do I key in these characters from the default window?

Yes, your prepaid phone has the option for your handset balance display to show on the main screen of the phone, but do you have a prepaid monthly plan, such as the $50.00 unlimited? If yes, then the price plan removes the feature, changing to a daily plan and doing programming on the phone (*228 opt 2) will put that option back in the Menu>Settings & Tools>Display Settings.

Have you tried this MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ Display Settings ➔ Banner and that would put a manner on your home screen with the balance on it. Mine is an LG Accolade so it might be different from the Gusto
