What do you mean "Update my phone every few months"? Are you talking about an actual new phone, or updating the phone settings itself? Or something else?

You talking about the *228 thing? I don't think that is needed for 4G phones, if you happen to be using one.

If you mean getting updates for your operating system (Gingerbread, ice cream sandwich), there is no number to call. Updates come automatically to your phone. If you are referring to getting a new phone, there is no way you can do that every few months. You are bound to a two year contract with the phone(s) you have. There is nothing preventing you from buying a different phone at full cost, however.

Hey,
I believe the OP is referring to the *228 number. As Mortb explained, you don't have to worry about 4G devices, but it works good with the others, Android and Blackberry alike. Even the basic phones it works to keep the PRL (Preferred Roaming List) up to date.
