Did you ever figure out how to change the charging port?  I ordered the same part and have taken apart the phone as well.  Now I am wondering what I am going to do.  In fact, it looks like it might be challenging to unsolder the old port from the motherboard.

Good one, yes it will work out but only a temp fix. Just like a chick, the larger the jack the more loose it will become and your back to square 1. The temp fix before you get a new one is. 1. Power down phone. 2. Using as fine point machinist or eye glass screw driver or needle tip, (Razor blade works good) squeeze the female port together from around the outside edge making the hole more tight. Do not try this with a loved one, phone only. It will work for a few more day till you get the new one. Do not tell Version you did this as they will have an excuse to denies responsibility for replacement or repair. The permanent fix is for the manufacture of the case simply make the hole smaller so the port can not expand. So simple yet its all about parts and service to cash in on upgrades especially if you are paying insurance but bought you item on line so you cant have it fixed or replaced in a store. in. Hope this helps.

Add the $7 insurance to your plan and 7 days later lose your phone overboard fishing and get a new one. I bet you did not have the problem for at least the first 6 Mo. You owned the phone. 1. Use the black berry slightly larger jack. The larger the jack the more loose it will become and your back to square 1. 2. Before you get a new phone, power down phone, using as fine point machinist or eye glass screw driver or needle tip, (Razor blade works good) squeeze the female port together from around the outside edge making the hole tighter.
