serious update problems

I updated my razr tonight to the new software and my phone is pretty much useless now. I cannot make or receive phone calls, my phone will not keep a charge what so ever, I constantly have a battery temp warning and most importantly (the main reason I have the phone) I cannot access my text messaging. Not only can I not send or receive texts I cannot even bring up the program, a black screen appears. My phone is extremely slow now and freezes every time I attempt to do anything. I have had it restart on me five times in the last 8 hours. I am very frustrated because the closest verizon store is an hour away. Does anyone have any solutions on how to fix my phone?

You have a few options at this point, each have their level of difficulty.

1.) Run in Safe Mode - How many apps do you have on the phone? Have you tried rebooting the phone into safe mode and run it that way to see if it is an app or not?

2.) There is also a possible fix coming out that clears the master cache of the phone, which some are saying that was not done during the upgrade.

3.) Factory Reset - This is the most extreme as it will wipe your device back to the factory settings, just like if you were to buy it again from the store with ICS on it. You will have to make sure your contacts are backed up, make sure the apps you use, their data is backed up, etc. Your SD card will remain unaffected. There is another thread with the pro's and con's of this.

I hope one of these helps.
