My LG Spectrum was upgraded, or at least that is what I thought. I had the idea that I would be getting Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) especially since the hard buttons (Menu, Home and Back) are set up for ICS. I was told to go to verizonwireless.com/spectrumsupport for an overview of the upgrade. It started out stating that I now had Gingerbread. Wow! My old Droid X has had Gingerbread for quite a while already. I have nothing against Gingerbread, I thought it worked great with my Droid X, but I thought that the LG Spectrum already came with Gingerbread and would be upgraded to ICS. What gives, Verizon?

here's the details of your update:

often times a device will get a minor update to the current version of Android that they are running. the tbolt also just got an update that addressed a few bugs, but didn't include ICS. i hate to say it, but i wouldn't hold your breath for ICS......i know i'm not (i have a tbolt).

Thanks for the URL. Was a lot clearer than the site they originally sent me to. As for ICS, I guess the only ones I'll see is at the local supermarket.

LG does not have the best track record for updates, but if i remember correctly, the Spectrum was supposed to receive ICS at some point. The statement that it now has GB may have just been implying that it is a more current version of GB (2.3.4 as opposed to 2.3.3 or something).

thank for this link.
Is it me, or is the verizon site terribly weak for finding basic info like this? Geez.

yeah....i find the site fairly difficult to navigate. you're best bet is to come straight to the forums. you'll find what you're looking for.....particularly when it comes to updates.

My Android version is now 2.3.6, and is the latest GB update as far as I know. Now, if I can take a piece of ginger bread and dip it into an ice cream sandwich, that would tickle me silly.
