Hi! I need some help with my new lg extravert. When I'm writing a message with the touch screen instead of the keyboard I usually use the t9 word button. But sometimes I forget to press it and start typing only to realize it after trying to type a word. Here is my problem... Say I forget to press the t9 word button and I want to try typing the word "speakers" and it comes out as ppdajdpp and I realize I didn't press the button. Then I erase the letters, press the button and try typing speakers again it automatically types ppdajdpp as if it was a real word even though it's not. Now every time I do this I have to manually change it. Is there anyway to reset the word memory so it gets rid of these mistakes. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Yes...I would also like to reset this T9 dictionary. There are literally hundreds of 'words' that are not words!! I received this phone as a refurbished phone direct from Verizon and apparently the previous owner had so darn many misspellings that this phone is a nightmare to use!! Also, there is no way to set the default text entry setting to T9!!
Here;s another example... today I wanted to type OMG But it was NOT in the list!! This is what IS in the *^%#@ list:
OOH OMI NOI MOI ONG ONI MOG NONE of which are English words!!! How annoying!
Why doesn't someone from Verizon respond to this issue?

There are only two checkboxes under Text Entry Settings, Word Correction and Word Prediction. T9 is not a choice.

This phone is really, REALLY terrible, the worst T9 I have ever used or
heard of. It keeps strings of letters that defaulted to the screen while
trying to type a word, even if I do NOT actually accept them, but then will
NOT keep words that I type over and over and over again!
BAD BAD BAD BAD T9

You are giving inaccurate information regarding this cell phone!!
This phone is really, REALLY terrible, the worst T9 I have ever used or heard of. It keeps strings of letters that defaulted to the screen while trying to type a word, even if I do NOT actually accept them,. Conversely it WILL NOT remember words that I type over and over and over again!
BAD BAD BAD BAD T9
And the customer support at Verizon is sorely lacking in effectiveness. I have called in about this phone numerous times. I do not plan to use the Verizon upgrades in the future. I am planning to purchses phones from eBay instead!
In addition to this problem, the design on this phone is inferior. I have read this before, too bad I didn't read more reviews BEFORE I accepted this phone. The design of this phone leaves uch to be desired. When I try to slide the keyboard out, the styling of the phone causes it to slip from my fingers. I have all but given upo on ever using the keyboard as well. If I could slide it out with one hand then I probably would not be so concerned about using the T9 for texting.
I am not happy with Verizon. The last 5 phones (this included 3 attempts to use the Pantech Hotshot--which was beautifully designed but didn't work very well at all.) I have had have been very problematic.
Very, very discouraging.

You are correct. T9 can NOT be set as a default text entry either!! INSANE! You must activate T9 every single time you go to text. You must reactive the T9 toggle each and every time you switch to type a number or a character. It is a very tedious process and takes me 2x or 3x as long to text as I did with previous phones.
