uploading pictures to computer from phone

When I plug my phone into my computer it will upload duplicate pictures of every picture I have taken. It does not show me duplicate pictures on my phone, just when I upload them. It also uploads pictures that I have never seen before or pictures from facebook that I have viewed (not downloaded). How do I get this all to stop? I don't want to go through all my pictures once they are uploaded on the computer and delete the duplicates. Solutions?

i'm not familiar with samsungs, but it sounds like it is automatically syncing your photos. if that's the case, then you'll have to figure out how to stop the auto sync when plugged in. try this.....before you plug in the phone set the phone to "disk drive" and then plug it in. it should then run jst like an external hard drive, where you could then find only the pics you want to transfer, and manually transfer those.

How do I set the phone to Disk Drive? When I plug the phone into the computer I use a USB cable. It asks if i want to view the photos or upload so I select upload. I figured this work cause i know my pictures that are on there but then on my computer it uploads them all twice.

sorry...but i don't know on the droid charge. on my phone it is in the settings under "connect to pc." then i select "default connection type" and select "disk drive." then when i plug it in, the pc views it as an external disk drive and windows explorer shows all of the folders/directories on the sd card. however, even if you get to that point, you will have to find the folder that stores your pictures (i believe it is the DCIM folder).

ALL,

First touch Settings>USB settings.  Do you see a screen with three choices which are:  Media player, Mass storage, and Ask on connection.  If so choose Mass storage.  If not agree to the question posed because you should not have your USB Connection set for Application Development.  At this point I choose Mass Storage and it connects to my PC.  If a little window comes up from Verizon load that software.

BTW, If you ever need it set for development touch Settings>Applications>Development.

Next I will have to look around because I THINK that I had to download a Samsung program into my PC or the phone in order to easily move "stuff" between my PC and my Charge phone.  I'm really not sure on this.

HELP...Does anyone else remember???

There was Samsung driver I had to download to make this process work. The software that popped up in the little window from Verizon did work at all for me. I deleted that and just have the driver and ignore that box when it pops up every time.

Megalin10,

At that point I plug my phone into a USB port and go to my Windows Explorer  Then go down the list of the folders to the end and there two disk drives listed for your phone.  One disk drive has all the folders in your phone.  In my phone the folder DCIM has my photos.
