I saw the Nokia Lumia phone at AT&T and would have changed immediately if not for the $412 it would cost me to get out of my Verizon contract. So the bottom line is: I spend almost $200 per month and will wait for each of my contracts to expire and I will leave if this Nokia phone is not available.
Have a nice day.
In regards to the iPhone; there are factors that impacted the device appearing on VZW network. First there was the device exclusivity with AT&T so there was no way VZW could get the device any sooner no matter how many customer screamed for the device. Also they saw the nightmare's AT&T had with the phone and their network infrastructure so VZW took that wait time and built up the network and then once the AT&T exclusivity was up VZW spent time with Apple to test the device on the network and negotiate a deal.
VZW already has a Windows Phone device on their network and continue to support the device so there is interest in the device. Otherwise VZW would have stopped selling and supporting the device if they didn't want it and there was no interest in it.
I pass a Verizon kiosk daily at lunch and it stopped carrying the Trophy about a month ago. Another mall store has no mention of it much less a device to try. Opening day at Comerica Park had a trailer out front and the guy in it didn't even know Verizon had Windows Phone devices. I showed him my Trophy and he was dumbfounded. I'd say in my experience it's no longer supported.
Verizon the the Trophy May, 2011. It's one of the top-3 customer ranked phones at amazonwireless a huge sampling of data. Trophy is a good form factor for most people, nice 3.8" screen with 16GB (more than enough) storage and runs the latest Mango 7.5 version.
In short Verizon needs these in stores. Their last fiscal QT$$$ losses show they would make actual profit again selling these type smartphones with higher margins than subsidizing Apple profits with iPhone.
Bad business and bad customer service both on display by Verizon. That said i'm loving my $0 cost Lumia 900 Cyan
Yep I've been due for an upgrade waiting for Verizon to get with the WP7 program for two years using a Droid incredible. I love VZ's network and customer service but I am seriously considering moving to AT&T if there isn't some progress shortly... The thought makes me ill but Big Red needs to get serious about WP7...
