I misplaced my phone, how do I start that program to locate my phone
Did you have an app like Lookout or Mobile Defense on the phone prior to losing it??? If so ya may be outta luck. But I hear there is an app called Plan B which you load on your PC and supposedly it will find it and then you can lock, wipe clean.... provided the phone is on and GPS is on.
Yeah, there's no preinstalled app or service on Android devices to locate them if they're lost—that's something that you have to do yourself. If you didn't already have something installed, you can try to remotely push the Lookout Plan B app to your device from the Play Store. Just click that link, sign in to your Google account (the one you have linked with your Android device), and click install. It'll push the app out to your phone, and the app will attempt to turn GPS on if it wasn't already. The phone's location will be sent to your Gmail account.
Although I'm not sure any of this is helpful if your phone has really been lost for 4 days. With how quickly Android's burn through battery life, yours has probably been dead for the past 72 hours.
That's actually a good point. For all the crap they now prebundle on phones that you can't remove (blockbuster, kindle, etc), they really didn't think to add a program that allows you to locate or remotely wipe the phone? Kind of sad when you think about things like that . . . priorities to advertising versus functionality.
best way is to use latitude with a friend or 2 & select "update", within latitude.
if your phone is lost, they can see it's last location, or you can see it with google/ig, if you're logged into your gmail account.
my son just did this to find his phone.
i know this doesn't help now, if you're not using latitude but it's a pretty slick app.
